Hon. Neil G. Mullally (Ret.)

Thirty years as a Muskegon County trial judge, including Presiding Judge of the 14th Circuit Business Court, and one of the first sitting judges in Michigan certified as both a civil and domestic relations mediator.

A native of Muskegon County, Judge Mullally mediates and arbitrates from the Livonia office and remotely.

After serving as an assistant Muskegon County prosecutor and thirteen years in private practice, he spent more than thirty years as a trial judge in Muskegon County, serving as Chief Judge of Probate Court, Presiding Judge of the Family Division and Presiding Judge of the Business Court of the 14th Circuit. He was among the first sitting judges in Michigan certified as both a Domestic Relations Mediator and a Civil Mediator.

In 1998 he introduced mediation and balanced and restorative justice to Muskegon County, work the Michigan Department of Human Services has recognized as a statewide model. Two annual awards now carry his name. The Michigan Supreme Court appointed him to its Task Force on Court Reform and its Technology Advisory Group.

Since retiring from the bench in December 2016, he has served Of Counsel to Williams Hughes PLLC, continues to sit as a visiting judge on request of the State Court Administrator's Office, and is President of the Board of Mediation and Restorative Services for Muskegon, Oceana, Mason and Manistee Counties.
